‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Gets Fall 2019 Release Date
The principal cast from the series is returning for the film version, which will be released in North America by Focus Features.
The Downton Abbey movie will hit theaters in North America on Sept. 20, 2019 via Focus Features, it was announced today.
The Downton Abbey movie will star the original principal cast from the TV series which ran for six seasons on PBS’ Masterpiece Theater, including Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Lesley Nicol, Penelope Wilton and winner Maggie Smith, as well as new cast members Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Julian Fellowes, who created Downton Abbey and wrote the film’s screenplay, is producing alongside Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge. Michael Engler is set to direct. Brian Percival, who helmed the series’ pilot, is executive producing alongside Nigel Marchant. The movie is being produced by Carnival Films.
